I have over 20 years of personal training experience and have helped hundreds of people from all walks of life, get their lives back.
I was an elite rugby player and track cyclist—10 years competing, national medals in both. I suffered through it with chronic cervical spinal stenosis (painful, debilitating, and dangerous condition) which eventually caused temporary, complete paralysis on the field, ending my pro dreams.
Desperate to heal myself, I went back to school, earned a BA in Biological Sciences from Hunter College, took all Physical Therapy prerequisite classes with a strong focus on the nervous system. At the same time, I was fortunate enough to have worked at my father’s holistic medical wellness center as a part time personal trainer. There I collaborated with top MDs, PTs, and dietitians on corrective exercise techniques, nutrition, supplementation, and rehabilitation.
What I’ve learned over the course of my career is that everyone has a unique experience with their limitations and pain. My job is to figure out the root causes and give the best treatment plan to help you break free. The answer is always nuanced from person to person and a wholistic custom approach is required. Targeted and strategic training progressions, nutrition, sleep, and mindset proved the most helpful for me and I like to implement those same pillars into the training programs of all my students.
Every challenge in my life was necessary. It built the empathy and insight to connect deeply with patients/students who feel trapped in their pain. I’ve lived it—so I truly get it.
